Don't worry Q I see what you are doing and think you have some very good points. I have not done the fight yet because my windows isn't working and will continue to not work for several weeks but I can agree with some things. I think that if the choice is between running through the cloud and having the boss hit you, I would run though the cloud. I believe the healers could easily top the kiter off if they get hit for about 1k of damage. Above all else if you get the eye you RUN AWAY also I would think it wouldn't be too hard to notice an eye above your head. From experience with the twins fight I am always looking for eyes and as soon as I get one I stop whatever I am doing, induction or no, and do what is needed for the appropriate eye. All in all thank you Q for trying to help if people actually read this the fight should go a lot smoother and I am sure its only a matter of time before we are able to start farming the entire raid.

Patch updates. The last two are very important to note as I think we'll have to spread out more for phase 2. Making phase 2, even harder!

Barad Guldur

Icons for the Bard and Vendor have been removed; the npc's will still arrive after Durchest has been defeated though.

The yellow corruption cycle for the Lieutenant will now correctly inflate the power cost of players. Other adjustments have been made to the corruption cycles.

The Lieutenant of Dol Guldur will now randomly select targets to affect with his Seed of Dissent and Terror skills.

One thing that I think would help a lot is if we could up our morale as much as possible and trait defense. Every piece of jewelery should give 150 or more morale and innocence, fidelity, and ... is it tolerance that gives 1000 tact def? My thinking for this is every one of the bosses gets buffed or we get debuffed every time someone dies. The last attempt on the revised durchest was very close. IMO the deference would of been if we died less when he does his random knock back. We either did not have him debuffed enough, or we lacked the stones to take it. Its probably a mixture of the two. Sooo, try to max out morale and defenses and we should get a new LM to debuff better.

New in the patch, they tossed us a bone:

The Lieutenant of Dol Guldur will no longer choose fixated targets to terrify, and the Felbeast will no longer choose terrified targets to fixate on.

We have died to this in the past, so this might be just enough to get us over the hump. Just in time for the attempt tomorrow night! Unless, of course, they reset locks.

So the corruption stacks up quicker than I thought. I think the best bet is going to be as soon as the Lt. dismounts, hit him with two removes. Then wait until Blue and Red are off of us. Then remove into Blue. Wait for Yellow to disappear, then double remove back to yellow.

So basically use the corruptions themselves as timers to remove. Unfortunately this means that you sometimes have all 3 corruptions on you, but the key thing is they all get a chance to reset to zero, so they shouldn't build up very high. Probably looking at 50%. (except red will be 10%)

The guide seemed to imply that you could pump power while sitting in the blue once the yellow disappeared, but I'm not sure that's doable because if I hang around in blue very long after yellow resets you're talking heals having almost no effectiveness.

I'd like to try taking just one LM and add a range DPS person.

Got to be careful with sting from the tanks, we've got them trained so well to use it on all the trash repeatedly, but on this boss removes have to be controlled. Guards can (probably should) be used for one of the removes.

Another tweak, when someone *has* the purple eye. You know nobody else can get the purple eye. This is a great time for the 2nd tank to build some hate up on the Lt. Probably just run in...one run through your hate building cycle...and back out. Two guards should protect each other so they get more parry responses.

A quick clarification on the corruption cycle:

It'd be best if someone not on DPS calls it, the tank would be ideal.

If I were tanking I'd "fray the edge" from about 10 meters away and when the LT gets to me, i'd immediately hit him with a sting. If it sticks (i.e. doesn't miss), I'd call for a burst removal immediately. Their remove might miss, but once sting is on, it will not miss. So be prepared to call in another burst remover.

Ideally this means your into the yellow (looks yellow on us) corruption fairly quickly. Once the blue corruption leaves. Hit sting. Wait until this moves you to blue. Wait until yellow leaves (red will expire by then). Now repeat.

So it looks like this:

Fray the edge
sting
"Kella remove"
Wait until blue (on you) corruption expires.
sting
wait until yellow (on you) corruption expires.
sting
"Kella remove"
Wait until blue expires.
sting
Wait until yellow expires
sting
"Kella remove"
etc. etc. etc.

good info, although i think whether or not the yellow corruption expires, the blue needs to be removed at (or before) it gets to 50%. the blue one decreases ranged damage and healing skill so we need to remove it at the 50% marker (or before that).

As a consequence of following the cycle, you'll keep the corruptions as low as you can. I think the debuff expires faster the higher it gets...i'm not positive though.

You cannot afford to NOT allow a corruption to expire before you move to it. Failure to do so, means it will continue to build. Either Blue or Yellow getting to 100% is not a good thing. 100% power cost will drain the healers and DPS. Once you're out of power, not much difference between the two.

Rushing through the blue the first time, helps keep from nerfing fellowships heart which we are using for the transition. There's no penalty because we start with no corruptions/debuffs.
